Hsiao Wen (Lin Hsiao-Lao of Child Of Peach fame) is a down-on-her-luck college student with dreams of becoming as badass as Arnold Schwarzenegger in THE TERMINATOR or Sylvester Stallone in RAMBO. Soon, her life takes a turn when she inadvertently blocks the reincarnation attempt of a ghostly gangster (Taiwanese action star, Alexander Lo Rei). Now stuck together, they must learn to work as one to kick ass and get revenge on the gang members who murdered him.

Kung Fu Student (1989) is a Taiwanese action comedy gem that is sure to please fans of Hong Kong supernatural adventure hijinks with its creative fight sequences. Directed by Chuang Yan-Chien, he would later go on to make the heroic bloodshed blast-to-the-face Revanchist (1994), and he is one of Taiwanese cinema’s wildest filmmaking visions whose work is deserving of rediscovery.
